Welcome to Greenslam! Creating change is not just an issue for scientists and celebrities - it's time for all of us to take action! Join our work to make the sports we love environmentally friendly!

GreenSlam aims to educate, inspire and contribute to a greener planet.

The global green movement is spawning an increased need for workers in eco-industry. Funds raised through GreenSlam programs support environmental studies and "green collar" job training for under served communities.

Our mission to harness the power of sports to create socially responsible change and make a positive environmental impact is enacted by these initiatives:

  • In 2009 Billie Jean King's GreenSlam/ GreenTernship Program was launched

Project mission: Involve youth, especially those in underserved communities, with green job training and the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the eco-sports movement. Two New York area students have been selected for the pilot program one from the Harlem Renaissance High School and the other from Columbia University; these students will be the program's inaugural GreenTerns.

The students will work with leading green professionals in a program designed under the guidance of GreenSpaces, a New York-Colorado based organization that provides green entrepreneurs with workspace, business service and networking channels, to manage and oversee project curriculum and the GreenTerns.

The GreenSlam GreenTernship program is made possible thanks to the generous support of GreenSpaces, MSI Computer Corporation, the United States Tennis Association (USTA), the Billie Jean King World Team Tennis Charities and the Tennis Industry Association.
  • GreenSlam has teamed up with Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the nation's most effective environmental action group to establish green standards to share with stadium operators, event promoters and sporting good manufacturers. A public service campaign was launched geared to sports enthusiasts.
